About the Artist

Peter Hall, originally from Schenectady, New York, earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Arts Education from State University College at Buffalo.

He painted for nearly twenty years in Meredith, New Hampshire, on Lake Winnipesaukee where he operated his own gallery. Between 1971 and 1975, he lived in France in a suburb of Paris. While there, he traveled throughout the various regions painting on location following in the footsteps of many famous artists.

Since 1984, Hall has lived in California teaching and concentrating on his painting working in various mediums. His works are included in many public, business, and private collections throughout the U.S., Canada, France, Germany, The Netherlands, and New Zealand. He is represented in the permanent collection of the State of New Hampshire.

His works have been exhibited at several galleries and museums, including the Currier Gallery of Art in Manchester, New Hampshire, and he has been the recipient of the Currier Gallery of Art Prize. He has also been shown at the Munson-Williams-Proctor Art Institute in Utica, New York, the Art for Wildlife Galleries in Coronado, California, the San Diego Art Institute, and the Bonita Museum and Cultural Center as well as the Ogunquit Galley in Maine.

The artist's forte is transparent watercolor painting in the traditional, purist style leaving the white of the paper for the lightest areas in his works. He paints subjects, which are meaningful to him using color and a variety of techniques that make his paintings vibrant and poignant.

Currently, Mr. Hall is an award-winning exhibiting artist at the San Diego Watercolor Society in which he is a member and has shown his works in two International Exhibitions.
